When it comes to motivating the Chrysler 200, it’s engineered to perform ahead of the rest. The standard engine is Chrysler’s fuel-efficient 184-hp, 2.4-liter Tigershark® MultiAir® II four-cylinder that delivers lively performance with an impressive EPA-estimated 36 mpg highway. Up the ante with the available and best-in-class 295-hp 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 that also achieves a solid EPA-estimated 32 mpg highway. Both engines mate to a smooth and responsive nine-speed automatic transmission electronically controlled by a knob on the center console rather than a traditional shifter. The 200S model adds steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for an even sportier driving experience.
We’re pleased to say that the 2015 Chrysler offers more advanced standard and available safety and security features than any other vehicle in the standard midsized class. These safety innovations include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go that will bring the vehicle to a full stop in bumper-to-bumper traffic, and then re-engage the cruise control as traffic starts moving again. Another important safety feature is the available Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking that alerts the driver to a possible forward collision while activating the brakes if the driver does not respond.
Other key safety features include a rear backup camera, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, four-channel electronic stability control, eight airbags, and available 911 Call that directly connects you with emergency assistance if needed. For these reasons, the Chrysler 200 received the NHSTA’s highest five-star safety rating. It is also a 2015 IIHS top safety pick.
